Food Transformers are on a roll!

The Food Transformers workshops continue this week! Same project, different place, different time, and different foods! This week we’ll be meeting at the Dawson Community Centre (666 Woodland, Verdun) from 17h30-20h30.

Last week we had a great time transforming super-ripe strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries into different types of jams. Then at the end we whipped up a batch of chocolate zucchini muffins. It was a great reward after slaving over a hot stove on a pretty hot afternoon.

Zucchini is the main attraction this week – the collective gardens are producing them like crazy these days. We’ll explore different salads, maybe a soup, and perhaps another sweet bread recipe. But we also have a ton of carrots and cucumbers to contend with. Think: pickles!

Remember, all participants get to take home a portion of whatever we make each week. We only ask for a $5 donation to help cover the cost of materials. Please let us know if you’ll be joining us: plantdetomate[at]gmail.com and bring your friends and family!
